NewGen Families Review: What Surrogates Actually Say

Our take: the newest partner on our list, with the highest starting base for experienced surrogates and the thinnest review record.

5.0 / 5only 9 reviews, on Google, Expecting.ai and Surrogacy Network · checked Aug 2026 · platform ratings, not our data
Short answer: NewGen opened in 2021 and staffs journeys with senior coordinators only. Its $80,000+ experienced base is the highest starting base on our four rate sheets, though the $92,000 experienced total is not the highest. First-timer base is $60,000, $72,000+ total. Nine public reviews, all five stars: a good sign, not proof.

About that 5.0: it comes from nine reviews

NewGen launched in 2021, so the public review base is small. Nine reviews cannot tell you what 300 could. Four of the nine mention the team's expertise; one mentions LGBTQ+ inclusion; that is the whole pattern. A perfect average from nine people is encouraging, not evidence.

Why we partner with them anyway: the things we could check directly rather than the stars. Senior-only coordinators, a clear ten-payment structure starting at heartbeat confirmation, a published $80,000+ experienced base, and a founder who came to surrogacy from the intended-parent side. We also score the newness against them below: first-timer support is 6 out of 20, the lowest in our set, because there is not much evidence either way yet.

States served

NewGen accepts surrogates from 18 states plus Washington, D.C., weighted to the West Coast and Mountain states: California, Nevada, Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

That list is the agency's intake footprint as recorded in our partner data, checked Aug 2026. Footprints change, so ask the agency which states and clinics they currently serve before you apply — or take the two-minute quiz and we will show you which partners cover your state.

State law still matters. A few states restrict or complicate compensated surrogacy. Read surrogacy laws by state and talk to a reproductive-law attorney before you apply.

Our verdict: who NewGen is right for

Per the agency, every coordinator is an experienced surrogacy professional with prior agency experience, and many are former surrogates. We have not verified individual résumés.

You'll love them if

  • You want a team of senior staff only, with no junior coordinators learning on your journey.
  • You value managers with a decade or more of experience, many of them former surrogates.
  • You want an agency led by a dad through surrogacy who knows the process from the intended parents' side.
  • You appreciate clear structure, firm boundaries, and a team that advocates for you.
  • You want to feel respected rather than treated like another profile in a database.

Not right if

  • You see surrogacy as a purely business transaction.
  • You struggle significantly with injections or medical protocols.
  • You would not support intended parents making medical decisions, including termination.
  • You want a long public track record to read before you commit.

Honest take: a few things to know

  • They are the newest and smallest agency we partner with. Nine public reviews is not much of a track record to check, and five years in business is short for this industry.
  • Day-to-day communication runs heavily through WhatsApp and Facebook groups. If you would rather not use either, say so on the first call.
  • First-timer support scores 6 out of 20 in our set, the lowest of the four. That is not a record of complaints; it is a lack of evidence either way for a first journey.
  • Intended parents cannot sign until they are matched, and the agency does not share waiting-list information with them. Some intended parents find that frustrating, which can slow a match down on your side too.
  • Rematching timelines for intended parents are not guaranteed, so if a match falls through, ask what the realistic wait looks like.

RealTalk scorecard

Eight dimensions, each scored 0–20 by our team from public surrogate reviews and the agency's onboarding data. These are the same numbers the quiz uses to rank your matches. How we score agencies.

Compensation scores 20 on the strength of the $80,000+ experienced base, the highest starting base on our four rate sheets. It is not the highest experienced total: Family Makers publishes $105,000+ and Family Tree $90,000–$105,000. No single total: the quiz weights these by what you told us matters. Scored against our published methodology. Not a certification. Last verified Aug 2026.

What NewGen pays

Base is the guaranteed part, paid in ten equal installments once a heartbeat is confirmed. The total adds allowances, fees and bonuses that depend on how your journey goes. Those are contingent, not promised.

We removed the "$100,000+" figure

An earlier version of this page showed a best case of $100,000 and up. NewGen's own published figures top out at $92,000 for an experienced surrogate, so we could not source the higher number and took it down. Contingent items — multiples, a C-section, lost wages — can push a journey above the published total, but the agency does not publish a maximum and neither will we. Plan around base.

NewGen's $80,000+ experienced base is the highest starting base on our four rate sheets. It is not the highest experienced pay overall: Family Makers publishes a $105,000+ total and Family Tree $90,000–$105,000, both above NewGen's $92,000. For a first journey, NewGen's $72,000+ total is the lowest of the four, just under Simple Surrogacy's $73,000. See all four side by side in our surrogate compensation guide.

What the reviews say

5.0 / 5only 9 reviews, on Google, Expecting.ai and Surrogacy Network · checked Aug 2026 · platform ratings, not our data

We counted 9 public reviews across Google, Expecting.ai and Surrogacy Network written by surrogates, read each one, and coded the themes below. "Verified" means we found the review on a public platform, read it, and confirmed the writer describes being a surrogate rather than an intended parent. It does not mean we interviewed them. How we verify reviews.

Themes in the 9 NewGen reviews we coded
ThemeReviews mentioning it
Knowledgeable team4 of 9

Counts, not percentages: a percentage of nine is a number pretending to be precise. Only two themes recurred across the nine reviews, and we are not padding the list to match our other profiles. Coded Jan–May 2026, last checked Aug 2026.

Two of the nine reviews are signed only "Verified Surrogate" with no surname or platform profile we could open, so we do not quote them anywhere on this site. Want to read the set yourself? Search Google for NewGen Families reviews (opens in a new tab). Counts change as new reviews land.

“Highly recommend working with them as a surrogate again, and I even brought my intended parents over from a previous agency that didn't see our vision.”

Common questions about NewGen Families

Is NewGen Families legit?
As far as we can verify, yes — with the caveat that it is young. NewGen has operated from Las Vegas and Los Angeles since 2021, publishes its compensation, and staffs journeys with senior coordinators. The nine public reviews we found are all five stars. Nine is a small sample, and we say so above rather than let the 5.0 stand alone. How we verify reviews.
How much does NewGen pay surrogates?
First-time surrogates: $60,000 base, paid in 10 equal installments from heartbeat confirmation. The published total is $72,000 and up, but everything above base depends on your journey. Experienced surrogates: $80,000+ base — the highest starting experienced base among our partners — and $92,000 total. From the agency's rate sheet, checked Aug 2026.
What states does NewGen accept surrogates from?
Eighteen states plus Washington, D.C., listed in full above and weighted to the West Coast and Mountain states. Ask the agency to confirm your state before you apply, because intake footprints change. State law matters too; see surrogacy laws by state, and compare local options on our California agencies page.
Who founded NewGen Families?
We don't publish a name we can't verify. The agency says its founder became a parent through surrogacy in the United States after failed attempts abroad, and that he built NewGen from the intended-parent side of the process. Ask the agency directly who founded it and who your coordinator would be on the first call.
Why partner with an agency that has only nine reviews?
Because we could check the things that matter without the reviews: senior-only coordinators, a published rate sheet, a defined ten-payment schedule, and a state footprint they'll confirm in writing. The newness still counts against them in our scoring — first-timer support is 6 out of 20 — and it should count in your decision too.
