Real Talk Surrogacy
Effective Date: March 5, 2026 | Last Updated: August 26, 2026
Who We Are
Real Talk Surrogacy is operated by Real Talk Surrogacy LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, doing business as Real Talk Surrogacy ("Real Talk," "we," "us," or "our"). We are not a surrogacy agency, fertility clinic, or legal advisor. We provide educational information about gestational surrogacy and help prospective surrogates compare and connect with vetted surrogacy agencies.

Availability of Services
Due to legal or operational considerations, our services may not be available in certain states. If services are unavailable in your state, you may not be able to access certain features of the Site.
What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our website at realtalksurrogacy.com (the "Site"), take our qualification quiz, view your results, apply to an agency, or otherwise interact with our services.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you take our qualification quiz, you may provide:
- Contact information: First name, last name, email address, and phone number (optional).
- Demographic information: Age range and state of residence.
- Physical information: Height (feet and inches) and weight (pounds), from which we calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI).
- Health-related information: Pregnancy and birth history, number of prior births and C-sections, and tobacco and nicotine use status.
- Citizenship information: Your citizenship or residency status.
- Background information: Whether you or your spouse/partner have been convicted of a felony.
- Personal circumstances: Whether you have a support system at home.
- Preferences: Your motivations for considering surrogacy, what excites you about the process, and your primary concerns (collected during optional personalization questions after the eligibility quiz).
If you go on to apply to an agency through the Site, you may provide additional application details, which are stored with your profile.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect:
- Device and browser information: IP address, user agent string, and browser type.
- Referral information: The URL of the website that referred you to us and your full landing page URL.
- Advertising identifiers: If you arrive via an advertisement, we capture click identifiers from the referring ad platform, including Google Ads click IDs (gclid, gbraid, wbraid), Meta/Facebook click IDs (fbclid), Microsoft Ads click IDs (msclkid), and TikTok click IDs (ttclid).
- Campaign tracking parameters: UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) appended to our URLs.
- Unique profile identifier: When you open the qualification quiz, we generate a unique identifier (UUID) stored in your browser's local storage (
rt_pid). This identifier links your quiz answers to your profile. No profile is created in our database from passive page visits alone — a database record is only created when you actively open the quiz. - Behavioral events: We log certain actions you take on the Site, including opening the quiz, completing the quiz, viewing your results, and clicking on an agency. Each event records the page URL and a timestamp.
- Error reports: Some pages load Sentry, an error-monitoring service, so we can find and fix broken scripts. When an error happens it records the error, the page URL, and basic browser details. It is not used for advertising.
Information Collected by Third Parties
We use Google Tag Manager to load third-party analytics and advertising tools on the Site — but only after you click "Allow cookies" in our consent banner (see "Your Choices" below). Until then, none of these tools load. Once loaded, they may set cookies on your browser and collect information including your IP address, browser information, pages visited, and actions taken. The third-party tools we use include:
- Google Analytics (GA4)
- Google Ads
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel
- TikTok Pixel
- Pinterest Tag
- Microsoft Advertising
Each of these platforms operates under its own privacy policy and may use information collected on our Site to build advertising audiences, provide analytics, or perform cross-device identity resolution. We do not control how these third parties use your data after collection.
Sensitive Information
Some of the information we collect — including pregnancy and birth history, height, weight, BMI, tobacco use, and drug use — may be considered sensitive personal information under certain state privacy laws (including but not limited to the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and the Connecticut Data Privacy Act).
We collect this information solely for the purpose of determining your potential eligibility as a gestational surrogate. This information is:
- Used only for eligibility screening and to provide your quiz results.
- Stored in our database (Cloudflare D1, a serverless SQL database hosted by Cloudflare, Inc.).
- Not shared with advertising platforms.
- Shared with surrogacy agencies only if and when you choose to engage with a specific agency through our Site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide our services: Process your quiz answers, determine potential surrogate eligibility, calculate compensation estimates, and match you with vetted surrogacy agencies.
- Communicate with you: Send your quiz results to the email address you provide, and send periodic follow-up emails related to surrogacy education and your quiz results. Every email we send (other than your initial results) will include an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time.
- Improve the Site: Understand how visitors use the Site, identify technical issues, and improve content and user experience.
- Advertising and analytics: Only after you allow cookies, measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and understand where our visitors come from.
- Protect the Site: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or other harmful activity.
How We Share Your Information
Sharing with Advertising Platforms
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense — we never provide your name, email, phone number, or quiz answers to advertisers. However, if you click "Allow cookies," certain data (such as your IP address, browser information, and on-site actions) is shared with advertising platforms including Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, LiveRamp, and Microsoft. Under certain state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — this type of data sharing for targeted advertising purposes may be legally classified as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even though no money changes hands for your data. You have the right to opt out of this sharing (see "Your Choices" and "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" below). If you never click "Allow cookies," none of this sharing happens.
Sharing with Surrogacy Agencies
If you choose to engage with a surrogacy agency through our Site (for example, by clicking on an agency from your results page or submitting an application to that agency), we may share the following information with that agency:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if provided)
- Your state of residence
- Your quiz answers, including age range, height, weight, BMI, birth history, tobacco and drug use status, felony history, support system status, and delivery history
- Your personalization preferences (motivations, interests, and concerns)
- Your application details, if you applied to that agency
We will not share your information with any agency without an action on your part indicating your interest. You control whether and when to engage with any agency.
When you apply to an agency, the agency receives a secure link to view your application. That link expires 30 days after it is issued. We can also revoke a link before it expires — email us at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com if you want an agency's access cut off sooner. An agency that has already viewed your application may keep a copy under its own privacy policy.
Service Providers (Subprocessors)
We use third-party service providers who process data on our behalf — for example, our hosting and database provider (Cloudflare), our email delivery provider, and our error-monitoring service. A list of our current service providers is available upon request by contacting hello@realtalksurrogacy.com.
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
Other Sharing
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Email Communications and Opt-In
How We Obtain Your Consent (Opt-In)
We only send marketing and educational emails to individuals who have affirmatively opted in to receive them. You opt in when you:
- Complete our eligibility quiz and provide your email address, OR
- Submit an application through our Site and check the consent box on the review screen.
By opting in, you agree to receive the following types of email from us:
- Your quiz results and agency recommendations (sent immediately after quiz completion).
- Follow-up educational content related to surrogacy (sent periodically).
- Updates about agencies you expressed interest in or applied to.
- Status updates related to your Real Talk bonus eligibility.
We will never add you to a mailing list without your explicit action. Passive page visits do not constitute consent.
Opting Out (CAN-SPAM Compliance)
You can withdraw your email consent at any time by:
- Clicking the "Unsubscribe" link included in every marketing email we send.
- Emailing us at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe."
- Visiting realtalksurrogacy.com/api/unsubscribe with your profile link.
We will process your unsubscribe request within 10 business days as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. Transactional emails (such as your initial quiz results or application confirmation) are not subject to unsubscribe requests as they are necessary to provide the service you requested.
Phone (TCPA Compliance)
Providing your phone number is optional. We do not currently call or text users directly. If we begin using phone or SMS communications in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your express written consent before contacting you via phone or SMS. Your phone number may be shared with a surrogacy agency only if you choose to engage with that agency through the Site, and that agency's communications with you are governed by their own TCPA compliance practices.
Cookies and Browser Storage
Our Use of Browser Storage
We use browser local storage (not cookies) for three things: your cookie choice (rt_consent, plus the time you made it), a unique profile identifier (rt_pid) created when you open the quiz, and — during the quiz and application only — session storage that temporarily holds your answers until you close the tab. We do not set any first-party cookies ourselves. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived security cookie to protect the Site from automated abuse; it is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking.
Third-Party Cookies
Third-party tools loaded through Google Tag Manager may set cookies on your browser — but only after you click "Allow cookies."
For a full inventory, please see our Cookie Policy.
Your Choices
Consent for Advertising Cookies and Pixels
We do not load analytics or advertising tags until you say yes. Here is exactly how it works:
- On every page, Google Consent Mode v2 starts with all four signals (ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage) set to "denied."
- Google Tag Manager — and every tool inside it (GA4, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest Tag, Microsoft Advertising) — does not load at all until you click "Allow cookies."
- On your first visit, a banner asks you to choose. "No thanks" and "Allow cookies" are shown with equal prominence. Either choice gives you the same Site.
- Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every page. If you choose "No thanks," no tags load on later visits either.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as "No thanks," skip the banner, and load nothing.
- You can change your mind at any time with the "Do Not Sell or Share My Info" link in the footer of every page. It clears your earlier answer and shows the choice again.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. As described above, while we do not sell your data in the traditional sense, sharing data with advertising platforms for targeted advertising may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under these laws.
To opt out, you may:
- Click the "Do Not Sell or Share My Info" link in the footer of any page, then choose "No thanks." This is the same choice as the consent banner; choosing "No thanks" keeps every advertising and analytics tag off.
- Email us at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
- Enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (see below).
When you opt out, we will not load advertising or analytics tags and will not share your data with advertising platforms for targeted advertising purposes.
Opting Out After Consent
If you clicked "Allow cookies" and want to undo it, you can:
- Click "Do Not Sell or Share My Info" in the footer and choose "No thanks."
- Clear your browser's site data for realtalksurrogacy.com. The banner will ask you again on your next visit.
- Turn on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser.
- Opt out directly with individual advertising platforms through their respective opt-out mechanisms.
Cookies that a platform set before you opted out may remain in your browser until you clear them.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information under applicable state privacy laws. We will not show the consent banner and will not load any advertising or analytics tags, even if you previously clicked "Allow cookies."
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Right to know: Request what personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to access: Obtain a copy of your personal information.
- Right to delete: Request that we delete your personal information.
- Right to correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing: Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising.
- Right to limit use of sensitive information: Request that we limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary for the services.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days). Deletion requests are completed within 30 days (see below).
California Financial Incentive Notice
We offer personalized quiz results and agency recommendations in exchange for the personal information you provide during the qualification quiz. Under the CCPA/CPRA, this may be considered a "financial incentive" because we provide a service (personalized results) in exchange for your data.
You can participate in this program by voluntarily completing the quiz. You may withdraw at any time by requesting deletion of your data at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com. We value the data you provide based on the cost of providing the service, including the expense of developing and maintaining the quiz, vetting agencies, and delivering personalized results. We believe the value of the service to you is reasonably related to the value of your data to us.
Data Retention & Deletion Requests
We retain your personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:
- Profile and quiz data: Retained until you request deletion or until we determine the data is no longer necessary for our services.
- Event logs: Retained for analytics and service improvement purposes.
- Advertising cookies: Governed by the retention policies of the respective third-party platforms (see their individual privacy policies).
To request deletion of your personal data, email us at hello@realtalksurrogacy.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" from the email address you used on the Site. Here is what happens next:
- We verify the request. We reply to the email address on the record and may ask for one detail only you would know (for example, the state you entered in the quiz). We do this so nobody else can delete your data.
- We complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying the request, and we confirm by email when it is done.
- Deletion covers: your profile, your quiz answers, any applications you submitted, the event records tied to your profile, and any inquiry records (for example, contact-form messages). We also add your email address to the suppression list in our email provider so you do not receive further messages from us.
We may retain minimal records where required by law or to prevent fraud — the suppression entry itself is one example, because it is what keeps you unsubscribed. If you already applied to an agency, that agency holds its own copy under its own privacy policy; we will revoke the agency's link to your application on our side.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Our database is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Admin access to profile data is protected by authentication.
- Agency access to applications uses expiring, revocable links.
- We limit internal access to personal information to authorized personnel only.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users and applicable state authorities in accordance with the notification requirements of applicable state laws. Most state breach notification laws require notification within 30 to 60 days of discovery. We will provide notice via email to the address associated with your profile and, where required, through additional methods such as prominent notice on the Site.
Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are intended for individuals aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21. If you are under 21, please do not use the Site or provide any personal information. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 21, we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide notice on the Site or via email. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
